Jan 10, 2011 Meeting Minutes

Hello,

Welcome back, everyone.
First of all, the first T shirts and our Champ Sys clothing is all in.
I just scheduled our first meeting for Tuesday, January 18. I don't know the room yet.

We have a few extra t shirts in M and L, so if you want one, bring $12 to the meeting.

Road racing will start up in March some time, so for those of you interested in that, you will need: a collegiate license from usacycling.org, dues paid, ISU jersey, and a bike. If you plan on doing any races, please let us know AHEAD OF TIME by at least 3 weeks before the race.

If there are any other questions, send me an email. Thanks,

Nick

Our 2nd Meeting

Hello Cycling Club,

We will be having our second Cycling Club meeting this coming Tuesday, September 13th, from 7:30-8:30 pm in Carver 160.  I hope to see everyone back and to all the new people that found us hidden away at Club Fest, welcome and we look forward to having you with us.
Steve from Bike World will be our guest that night.

From what I understand, he will be presenting on his cycling background, what its like to run a bike shop, and how Bike World has been involved with Cycling Club.  I think its a change from what we typically do, but it should be an interesting talk.
ELECTIONS-
We will be holding elections for the following positions.  Anyone is encouraged to run.  The time commitment is pretty minimal compared to how the descriptions may sound and its a good way to get more involved.  These are not all the officer positions, just the ones available for election.
Vice President- This is preferably a sophomore or freshman who is motivated and active within the group.  The main focus is that the VP can learn how the club is run and will take over as President the following school year.  The VP will also need to attend the Sports Club Council meetings, typically held Wednesdays at 5:30.  The Sports Club Council is normally attended by the President, but this year it presents a class conflict for me.
Secretary- This person will maintain a record of the meetings and post these by email for the members to see.  When needed, the secretary may be called upon to correspond with University administration and other ISU student organizations.
I hope to see you next Tuesday.  If you have any questions, always feel free to email me.
Ben

Welcome

Hello Cyclists,

Welcome back to Iowa State.  My name is Ben and I will be taking over for Nick Runtsch this semester as President of the Cycling Club.  I hope you are all as excited as I am to begin Cycling Club.  I've been working on the schedule for this semester and I have some ideas for this year like presentations by speakers during our meetings, continuing the CyCat, and group rides.  I would also like your input to what you want from a cycling club, so bring your ideas to our first meeting.  Our first meeting will be next Tuesday, August 30th at 7:30 pm in Carver 0160.  I look forward to meeting all of you new members and seeing the returners back again.
If you are on this email list by accident, or if you have graduated, please email me and I will remove you from the list.
Sincerely,
Ben Janson
